Yes this is not the normal baby quilt. Neither my daughter nor I are into cutesy baby quilts. The fabrics used in this piece are the same ones I used in her wedding quilt (link). I created a smaller, yet different version of the wedding quilt, with stripe piecing. I pinned up the fabrics and patchwork on my work wall and rearranged them until I created a pleasing design. There are hearts quilted in the navy border all around the quilt. Eventually I will make him a quilt for his wall that will have animals or sea life or maybe creatures from outer space. For now he can sleep under a quilt (if my daughter lets him) his Meme made with much love and joy.
