All the blocks are hand painted images done by nieces, a nephew and my daughter. One afternoon they sat around my dining room table and painted these squares for me to create a family quilt. They were all teenagers at the time. Now they are grown up, all college graduates, working full time and some have children. And yet I can still close my eyes and see them all diligently painting pictures for this quilt. Laughing and joking while they created, I hope they had as much fun as I did watching them.
I spent months seeking out the right background fabric to show off their work and arranging the different painted fabrics. The back of the quilt is fcotton flannel and is wonderful to take a nap under.
